The list format content delivery is not of any problem at all. This type of a formatting makes it easier for the any reader to absorb the content. The problem is that the type of content are seemingly very similar. So, following my example topic on the previous paragraph above, if you want information on how to grow your Facebook fans, all your research on Google may yield a lot of similar content.

Keep in mind that such content were developed by professional writers, writing for some of the biggest companies in the world. You will eventually start to ask the question that why do majority of the articles sound the same?

The answer is simple. Online marketing can be complicated beyond the basics.

No one likes to be wrong or to give bad advice. The content publishers are just writing the same vague, generalized advice as many of the marketing gurus. I believe that you’ve got my point by now.

You must play on your strengths. You need to be creative, persistent, and use your imagination in all your content creation efforts. There are a lot of things that are trending in the world. Pick one that interests you the most. Following that, create content about any concerns that surrounding that trending topic.

The more passionate you become to create high value content, the better the content will become. Take your time to ‘evolve’ your content over several days. Make it a habit to never finalize your initial draft.

The next step is to create the content using a media that’s popular. There is a reason why videos are more likely to go viral than an article. A great blog can surely also go viral, but it will definitely take longer. But that’s certainly fine also as you can see that I have also chose the blogging route.

Generally speaking, people tend to enjoy videos more since there is no reading involved in watching a video. Yet people also search a great deal for specialized blogs, infographics and articles on so many trending topics.

The videos doesn’t have to be aesthetically appealing and you don’t have to be an expert video editor. It just has to be packed with appealing and relevant content. And don’t worry, you can always learn about video editing and how to add special effects later down the road. It’s not very difficult to learn and do, as I had found out first hand.

The next step in the process to create viral worthy content is relating your content back to your business. This might be the hardest part, but, if done correctly, is a true game-changer. While the ultimate goal of the content is conversions, however, it doesn’t need to happen immediately.

Profits for the Online Entrepreneur

The mistake that many marketing gurus make is to have their content do the hard selling. Creating great content is to raise awareness towards your online business and eventually to build your brand. The brand should eventually become the ultimate weapon of the online entrepreneur.

Just as any sustainable business anywhere in the world, you need to be patient and deploy a plan to build your brand, customers, relationships, success stories and snowballing profits over time. There are some hit and run ways to conduct business over the Internet, but they are never sustainable.

This is because that any ads which are shown only based on the search results for keywords which anyone would be searching for at any given time. Hence, all the ad campaigns should be designed with specific keywords in mind which best serves your purpose including your budgets.

I am sure you have guessed it already that the keywords would then be a major consideration for your budgets. Also to note here that the same keywords would have different costs associated with them at various different geographical settings. For example, the same keyword ‘insurance attorney’ would have different costs for USA, India, Brazil, Nigeria, etc.

I believe you get the point. The lowest a keyword could potentially cost would be $0.01, however this would be highly improbable.

There are also several other factors which impacts the costs, but I will address those in a future post in details. Google is also revamping their advertising platforms and services. Let me run through the key points of these changes for the purpose of clarity.

Google launched AdWords nearly 18 years ago with a simple goal, to make it easier for people to connect online with businesses from which they are looking for any products or services. If you do this research within the Facebook Ads Manager, the number you will see there is the number of total users for that country or area. You should do this research independently to get a clear idea of how many active daily users there are for your particular country or area of interest.

Unlike Google, whereas a person maybe actively searching for your product or services, Facebook will actually display your ads to people who may fit your preferred demography, location, affinities, etc. So, it is possible to cover a very large segment of targeted people without achieving the desired results.

Also do keep in mind that Facebook is a social network whereas people in general are logging onto it to do some socializing. Running across any ads will need to be a highly compelling experience to jerk any immediate reactions out of them. Most ads Facebook users come across are simply ignored.

Although what I am saying about Facebook ads may seem a bit negative, that is not my intention here at all. I am simply trying to point out that both Google and Facebook are the most viable online advertising platform while both demand a very different mindset to create and implement any ad campaigns.

Also to consider that you could have some very good options for you to use in Facebook in addition to having your own website to promote. You could create fan pages in Facebook for your business and post your offers there for others to see and engage with.

You could also create or join groups where you could not only promote your own business but also see what your peers are doing to promote their businesses. Your groups can be moderated as you may wish to and even decide who can join or not.

With your fan pages and groups, you can create or even reinforce your brand easily at a very personal level with others. But do keep in mind that I had mentioned earlier that this is a social network. So, the more socially you can engage with your audience, the better the results will be.

Aside from creating and promoting your ad campaigns in Facebook, you could also promote the individual posts you may create in your personal page, fan pages or in your groups. You may even get many free promotions out of all this if others are willing to ‘share’ your posts. This would be the ultimate form of success in this form of online advertising in Facebook.

What should be the key target for your online advertising campaigns?

I recommend to encourage for any of your ad campaigns to sway your audience to click on to visit your own website or offer, away from Facebook or Google. This should be the desired end result even from your Facebook fan pages and group activities.

Ideally, you would want anyone who clicked on your ads or posts to go to your landing or squeeze page. This landing page is not to be confused as the home page of your website. I have a detailed BLOG on how to go about creating a landing page here.

As explained in details, all landing pages are designed for a singular purpose which is to get the visitor to take action on your offer immediately. This action could be anything from downloading a free e-book, getting a cool infographic, trial software, any type of a purchase, limited time access, etc.

Also make sure to use a very good hosting company to ensure maximum up time of your site or landing pages. Otherwise your ad revenue will be wasted by sending traffic to a page which may be down at times.

Never forget to do this

The most important part is to get your prospects to enter their email addresses in your capture form before the action in the landing page is completed. These email address are then entered into your email list or sales funnel at the back end. Naturally, you will need to have the sales funnel setup and active beforehand.

An email autoresponder will work in tandem with your sales funnel to run your email campaigns to do all future marketing and selling to all your subscribers in your email list over time. A dynamic set of emails need to be in your funnel which will offer value to your subscribers in return for their decisions to purchase your products and services.

The back end is where your profits are

Surely you have understood by now that your initial online advertising campaign in Google or Facebook should be an enticing offer which would only need to get them to click on the ad to get them to your landing page.

Once there, the full details of the offer is found with sufficient prompt to take action immediately. Keep in mind that this action is not any big ticket sales. The action they may take is intended to convert them from a cold prospect to a warm lead.

The big ticket sales start to happen from your compelling offers in your sales funnel, which your leads will receive in their email inbox. I can’t stress enough of the importance of a good sales funnel.

What about webinars?

Another popular way to generate leads are by holding webinars. In fact, it’s the rage these days for many successful marketers. Of course, you will need to have already created some familiarity of your brand, products and services to get the optimum results from your webinars.

You need to certainly market the webinars through online marketing campaigns.

Please do not confuse a webinar with a ‘Facebook live’ session or ‘watch parties’. Webinars must be done professionally in a feature rich environment where your brand value is being represented by a live person who is speaking to all prospects directly.

Your live webinar attendees should have the capability to interact with you directly. This is very important for a Q&A segment usually towards the end of the webinars. Besides just answering questions, you should be able to send across screenshots and active links for your attendees to opt-in to your offer right away rather than later.

It’s always best to have the capability in the webinar system for prospects to opt-in with their email addresses during the webinar in exchange for any services. You could verify all opt-ins in real time and start to build rapport with them before ending the live webinars.

The recordings of such professional level webinars could also be marketed afterwards , i.e. your fan pages and groups, to continue the campaign to generate even more leads.
